My experience converting an old Sprinter into a weekend camper and the flooring part nobody talks about

Been working on this van conversion for about four months now, mostly weekends and late nights when the kids are asleep, and I finally got to the floor stage which I thought would be the easiest part of the whole build but turned into this whole research project I wasn't expecting. The original rubber flooring was disgusting after years of commercial use so I ripped everything out down to the metal and then had to figure out what to put back that wouldn't mold or stink or weigh a ton. Someone in one of the overlanding groups shared a link to https://www.crateco.ae/product....list/vehicle-or-floo and I spent a good hour just reading through the specifications trying to understand the difference between all the materials they offer. Ended up going with the ventilated plastic option because the guy I spoke to there explained how the channels underneath allow airflow which makes so much sense for a camper where you're cooking and sleeping and there's condensation to deal with, something I completely overlooked when I first started planning. Cut it to size with a circular saw which was way easier than I expected, the plastic doesn't splinter like plywood so the edges came out clean even with my questionable DIY skills. Only been on two short trips so far but no weird smells and everything stays put way better than the old setup where my gear would slide around on every roundabout.

Anyone know a reliable place for brake pad replacement in Dubai that won't overcharge?

My 2018 Pajero has started making that telltale grinding noise every time I brake, especially when I'm coming to a stop at traffic lights, and I know I've left the pads way too long. I'm pretty sure the front rotors are going to need skimming too at this point, because I can feel a slight pulsation through the pedal when I brake from highway speeds. I called a few well-known garages in Al Quoz for a quote and honestly the prices were all over the place, with some quoting nearly double what others were offering for what seems like the same job. A mate recommended I check out https://brakepadreplacementdubai.ae/ because they apparently have transparent pricing and use quality branded parts, which sounds a lot better than playing the guessing game with random workshops. I've had bad experiences in the past where a garage told me they'd use genuine parts and then I found out later they'd put in cheap aftermarket ones that wore out in no time, so I'm a bit cautious this time around. I'm also wondering whether I should just pay a bit more and get the rotors replaced instead of skimmed, because I've heard skimming can sometimes leave them too thin and they'll warp again quickly in this heat. Has anyone here had their brakes done at a place they actually trust, and did you go for new rotors or just a skim? I'd really appreciate some honest recommendations before I commit to anywhere.

Anyone in Sharjah found a Mustang gearbox specialist they actually trust?

I'm in a bit of a spot with my 2016 Mustang GT and could really use some advice from people who've been through this before. The car's been great for years, but recently the transmission has started this weird hesitation when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, especially when it's cold, and I've got a feeling it's not going to fix itself. I've been looking around at different workshops and found https://gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/brands/mustang/ which seems to focus specifically on American muscle cars, but honestly, there are so many options in Sharjah that it's tough to know who's actually reliable and who's just going to take my money and not fix the problem properly. I've heard mixed reviews about some places in Industrial Area 4, and I'm particularly worried about going somewhere that doesn't have the right diagnostic tools for a Mustang's transmission. A mate mentioned he had a good experience with a shop that does Mustang transmission repair, where they actually used proper diagnostic equipment and gave him a clear breakdown of the costs before they started any work. If anyone knows a place that's honest and knowledgeable, especially about Mustangs, I'd really appreciate the recommendation. I'm in the Industrial Area myself, so anywhere nearby would be a bonus. Thanks in advance for any help you can give, I'm just trying to avoid making a costly mistake.

Mini Cooper S coolant warning but the coolant level is fine – what gives?

This is driving me crazy. My 2016 Mini Cooper S has started showing a "low coolant" warning on the dash, but when I check the expansion tank, the level is right between the marks. It happens mostly after I've been driving for a while and then restart the car. The temperature gauge stays normal. I've read online that these Minis have a common issue with the coolant level sensor going bad. I found a page for Mini repair https://800sayara.com/mini-cooper-repair-dubai/ and I'm thinking of taking it somewhere that knows these cars. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it really just the sensor or could it be a sign of something worse like air in the system or a small leak? I've looked for leaks and don't see any puddles under the car. The car has 95,000km on it and I've never had cooling system issues before. Also if it is the sensor, can I replace it myself without draining all the coolant? Any tips on where the sensor is located on the B48 engine? I'm trying to avoid a shop visit for something simple but also don't want to ignore a real problem. Any advice from other Mini owners in Dubai would be great. Thanks.
